The system in real situations
Six moments every school recognises.
Each scenario shows what the teacher does, what the learner experiences, how the moment aligns with inspection expectations, and which NeuroScope tools support it. These are illustrative scenarios, not case studies or clinical instructions.
The moment
Before a transition
A room change is announced at short notice. A learner who relies on predictability begins to unsettle.
What the teacher does
- 1
Preview the change as early as possible: where, when, and what the first activity will be.
- 2
Use the agreed cue phrase and show the visual timetable rather than repeating instructions verbally.
- 3
Offer a choice of how to move — with the group, slightly ahead, or with a trusted adult.
What the learner experiences
The learner knows what is coming, what the first step is, and that the adult's response will be the same as last time. Uncertainty is reduced before it becomes dysregulation.
Ofsted alignment
Predictable routines and consistent practice reduce barriers to learning and support calm, orderly environments.
How NeuroScope tools support this
Transition preview scripts from Module 1; visual scaffold templates; the shared staff language bank.
A shared staff routine
Notice. Reduce. Offer. Reconnect.
- Notice barriers, not just outward behaviour.
- Reduce cognitive load with short, concrete instructions.
- Offer predictable routines and genuine sensory choices.
- Reconnect without shame, then review what worked.
Use alongside agreed SEND provision, safeguarding procedures and staff judgement. Adult AI coaching is not a pupil crisis or behaviour-management service.
